Launch of Juvenile Justice Information Management System (JJIMS)

On Monday the 29th of June 2020, we launched the pilot phase of the Juvenile Justice Information Management System with Makadara Law Court and the Court Users Committee (CUC) in Kenya. It involves a web and android based software developed at AICS to improve tracking of caseload, case management and mapping of resource gapsin seven government juvenile justice agencies – Police, local administrators, dept of children services, office of prosecutor, judiciary, probation and prisons.

The agencies would all be able to simultaneously track a case.  It is a key milestone in this journey that we began 3 years ago under Judge Martha Koome led National Special Taskforce on children matters commissioned by the Chief Justice office. This is in line with AICS’ goal of being lead innovators in use of technology to improve child wellbeing across the globe. We will keep you update, share lessons learnt and provide you opportunity to collaborate.
